This week’s Showcased Short Film is the 2008 SXSW Film Festival Selected Short A New Toy by Austin, Texas Filmmaker Byron Brown.
With of a budget of only $250 and shot over the course of a day and half, writer/director/actor Byron Brown was able to take a simple concept and, along with creative partner Robbie Bourland, put together a dry, humorous short film that would eventually be accepted into the 2008 SXSW Film Festival line-up.
As any filmmaker living in Texas probably knows first hand, having your film accepted by SXSW Film is no small accomplishment.
