• Shiraz, 20, M, Shiraz is the lead in the film. He seems immature, naive, comedic, not too sociable. Only person he can be himself with is his girlfriend since middle school. He’s shy around new people, self-conscious, nervous at times. He is very attached to his girlfriend and is hopelessly in love with her.
• Imran, 40, M, This is Shiraz’s father. He’s raised his two sons for 14 years without a mother. His wife left when the boys were very young. Imran is the “cool” dad but at times can be strict. He doesn’t understand many of the things Shiraz does but loves him (even more than Asim).
• Maira, 18, F, Beautiful, enchanting! Funny, smart, and independent. Maira has enough experience with guys to know how evil some of them can be. She quickly realizes that Shiraz is far from the “typical” and begins to like him. She’s very logical and tries to get him to understand things.
• Rashid, 22, M, Rashid is the cute, handsome, dreamy guy that every girl wishes for. He’s smart, sophisticated, and smooth. He’s fun.
• Atif (A-Dawg), 22, M, Atif is the practical bully. He doesn’t care about anyone besides his gang, and holds himself in high regards. He honors himself and feels the world will never give him the respect he deserves. He is a semi-rapper and is very top-notch with the hip hop culture.
• Samia, 19, F, Samia is Shiraz’s girlfriend since middle school. She loves and respects him a lot. Also very naive – still immature but not as much as Shiraz. Very cheerful.
• Asim, 29, M, Shiraz’s elder brother. Mature, very hardworking. Quiet and to himself mainly. Also gets very annoyed by his younger brother and feels like he’s very spoiled.
• Niral, 19, F, Niral is Samia’s best friend. She can be a “witch” sometimes. Easily annoyed (especially by Samia) and doesn’t feel like her best friend deserves an idiot like Shiraz. Regardless of how she may be, the world doesn’t really understand her. Inside she really does care about her friends and looks out for people.
• Hiba, 28, F, Hiba is Maira’s older sister who is set up to get arrange married to Asim. She’s very shy and quiet. Traditional and well-mannered. Sweet.
