4XWIF.D Chick Flicks Short Films Screening
Film Title: Women @ Work
Editor: Jennifer Horst
Chick Flicks, WomenInFilm.Dallas’ year-long film series, celebrates their talented membership by featuring four outstanding shorts by WIF.D members. ShortFilmTexas.com was lucky enough to attend the June 18th Event at the Studio Movie Grill in Addison, Texas.
One of the filmmakers I had the chance to talk to after the screening is a woman by the name of Jennifer Horst. Jennifer was editor on director Anna Dewell-Bussartt’s short documentary film “Women @ Work.” “Women @ Work” takes a candid look at three very different women who have found their place in the work force alongside men. While each of the three woman showcased in this film have very different stories and jobs, they all share one thing in common and that’s a passion for what the do.
Jennifer has earned two bachelor degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Fine Arts specializing in Documentary Film Production from the University of North Texas. Currently employed by Texas Instruments for media production, Jennifer has also produced, crewed, and edited films covering everything from Texas’ cultural heritage to feminism and modern cultural identities.
Currently, Jennifer is working on a documentary about the different communities which interact with the Rio Grande river. See more of her work at Too Tart! Productions.
WomenInFilm.Dallas is still accepting submissions for its newly expanded program of the remaining screenings for 2009. CLICK HERE for submission information and guidelines.
