Casting Call in Austin, Texas For Irregular Media’s HD Short Film “The Interrogator.”

Synopsis:
Jack, a former interrogator in the Middle-East and now a police detective in Houston, Texas, suddenly finds himself wrapped into an international conspiracy and must fight to protect his family against a madman whom he helped create.

Character Breakdowns:

• Jack: Lead. Male. Age 25-35. Jack is a cop and a former soldier (handles a gun in some scenes). He’s tough but a bit burned out. Hawk-eyed like a detective but somewhat paranoid from his time at war, he is a very serious man who seems older than his youthful face would imply. Will entertain southern accent but not necessary.
• Frank: Antagonist. Male. Age 25-35. Frank is a former military interrogator and a kind of pathological patriot. He is out for revenge and violently lashing out at society and those he perceives have wronged him. He is cold and dispassionate on the surface, yet seething below. Shaved head helpful but not necessary. Accent helpful but not necessary.
• Debby: Lead. Female. Age 25-35. Debby is Jack’s wife. She is a cute leading lady. A teacher and a mother, she can handle herself and has an air of authority despite her girlish looks. She is very protective of their two young kids. Accent helpful but not necessary.
• Mike: Male. Age 25-35. Mike is a mercenary for a private contractor in the Middle-East. He’s ideally built like a linebacker and carries a scruffy beard. A friend of Jack’s but a company man, Mike is sketchy. Again, a southern accent is possible but not necessary.
• Jack Jr.: Male. Age 10-12. Jack and Debby’s son. He plays baseball and hangs out with friends. Some dramatic scenes required. A key role in the film.
• Prisoner: Male. Middle-Eastern. Age 15-20. Though not a speaking part, the character is harshly interrogated, as in a military prison.
• Cindy: Female. Age 7-9. Jack and Debby’s daughter. Probably not a speaking part.
• Detective #1: A police detective who harshly interrogates a suspect briefly.
