Synopsis:
As Etheline is leaving the Tenenbaum house, Royal appears and confronts her about his wish to spend time with his family again, to which she initially rejects. However, when Royal’s cancer is brought up, Etheline becomes shocked and concerned. Royal calms her, telling her that he has longer to live than he initially let on, prompting her to slap him in the face and yell at him to go away.

Character Breakdowns:

• Royal Tenenbaum, a shamelessly insensitive lawyer (briefly imprisoned) and a failure as a father. Broke, homeless, and given the news that his ex-wife, Etheline, is considering marrying her accountant, Royal devises a plot to convince Etheline that he has stomach cancer in order to win her back as well as the affections of his estranged children.
• Etheline Tenenbaum, a dedicated, sensitive, and intelligent author and mother. Had a messy divorce with her ex-husband, Royal and has mixed emotions about him coming back into her life with news that he has cancer and wants to patch things up with her.

Special Notes for Potential Cast/Crew:
Auditions will be held at the entrance to the UT Arlington Central Library on October 3rd starting at noon.
Further rehearsals and shooting schedules have yet to be determined.
The scene will be presented for my class on October 22nd. The class is from 8am to 10:50am.

Any extra information (such as headshots/resume/previous acting experience/scheduling conflicts) is strongly recommended to be included in the email you send me.
