Synopsis:
The story takes place the morning after daylight savings time. MARCUS is awakened by an early morning phone call from his MOM. When he answers inebriated she’s noticeably upset and begins lecturing him; when suddenly the alarm clock goes off. Marcus panics and rushes to get off the phone with his mom; he’s running late for work. On his way to work he experiences car problems and is forced to pull over on the side of the road. He reaches inside his pockets for his cell phone but its missing; he forgot it at home.

After several failed attempts to waive someone down for help, he decides to walk to the nearest gas station. While walking a FEMALE MOTORISTS stops him and agrees to give him a lift to the nearest gas station. The woman is dressed in 2 am in the morning Wal-Mart gear and is real talkative. Marcus is a bit uncomfortable by the female motorist’s demeanor and by the information she discloses. As she continues to drive, Marcus notices that she is in no hurry to get him to his destination and even passes a few gas stations on the way.

Marcus is frustrated and contemplates escaping from the vehicle. The narration of Marcus’s voice kicks in as the female motorist continues to talk. As they approach a four- way intersection, Marcus sees his opportunity and bails from the vehicle. He continues to run until he reaches a nearby pay phone. When he gets there he dials the office but no one answers; it’s Sunday and the offices are closed.

Character Breakdowns:

• Mom (late 30’s/early 40’s) – is the mother of Marcus. She is middle aged and a mother of two. She is noticeably unhappy with the way Marcus is running his life.
• Marcus (mid 20’s) – is a recent college graduate with a chip on his shoulder. He is slender, dark skinned, and irresponsible.
• Female Motorist (late 20’s) – is a recently divorced mother of two. She sees Marcus walking and decides to give him a lift. She is emotionally disturbed.

Special Notes for Potential Cast/Crew:
Shooting is expected to take three days and is scheduled to begin Saturday, October 24th and continue through Sunday, October 25th. The deadline is tight and the parts are filling quickly, so interested actors will need to respond immediately. The third shoot day hasn’t been scheduled but is scheduled to take place on a Saturday or Sunday.
