Synopsis:
A young man, made bitter by his attempts to make a career as an artist, steals a ring to spite an old woman who says a ring he likes would never be for him. He finds out that the ring has the power to charm people, and uses it to get his way, but soon his misuse turns back on him in disturbing ways.

Character Breakdowns:

• JARED – 24-30, any ethnicity, The protagonist, a young man who is bitter about his lack of success for receiving sponsorship from a gallery to support him and his work. He is in a relationship with Sylvia.
• MEBBETH – 50-70, any ethnicity, An elderly woman who runs an antique shop. She encounters Jared when he is out searching for inspiration for his art, and refuses to sell Jared the ring he finds there.
• CURATORS – 3 positions, 30-50, any ethnicity, Three curators who come to see Jared’s gallery opening and consider granting him sponsorship at their galleries.
• EXTRAS – 10 positions, any ethnicity, any age. Gallery goers who come to Jared’s gallery opening. They become a mob when Jared uses the ring to charm them into buying all of his art.
