2009 Texas Filmmakers Production Fund Grant Call For Entries
2009 TEXAS FILMMAKERS’ PRODUCTION FUND CALL FOR ENTRIES.
From now until June 1, 2009, the Austin Film Society (AFS) will be accepting applications for the 2009 Texas Filmmakers’ Production Fund (TFPF). This year, AFS plans to give out at least $95,000 to emerging film and video artists in Texas, in cash grants up to $15,000, as well as Kodak film stock and in-kind services from Seattle-based Alpha Cine Labs.
Films supported by TFPF saw major success in the past year, including Michel Scott’s OVER THE HILLS AND FAR AWAY, which premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival and four world premieres at the 2009 SXSW Film Festival – Karen Skloss’s SUNSHINE, David Hartstein’s ALONG CAME KINKY, Keith Maitland’s THE EYES OF ME and David Lowery’s ST. NICK.
Filmmakers who have resided in Texas for at least one year are eligible to request up to $15,000 in production, post-production and distribution funds for their projects. The deadline to submit is June 1, 2009 and award announcements are made in mid-August.
