About the CTD Film Competition:
The Coalition of Texans with Disabilities (CTD) is hosting the award-winning Fifth Annual Cinema Touching Disability Film Festival to promote community awareness of the capability of people with disabilities. Cinema reflects society and disability has long played a prominent role in movie history.
In 2007, CTD established a student film competition to empower emerging filmmakers by providing them with an opportunity to create and express a multitude of images portraying people with disabilities. Showcasing the various talents of creative youth, the CTD Student Film Competition returns for its second year, with separate divisions for Secondary Level (grades 6-12) and College student filmmakers.
Film Requirements:
Submissions must meet at least one of the following criteria -
- Have a disability theme
- Be made by a person with a disability (or have a person with a disability on production crew of film)
- Star a person with a disability
Film must be clearly labeled and include -
- One electronic copy of script (for closed captioning)
- Film title
- Length of film (up to 20 minutes)
- Name of filmmaker
- Phone number/email address of filmmaker
- Division: Secondary Level (6-12 grade) or College Student

Entry & Submission Guidelines:
All materials and $40.00 entry fee due on or before Friday, September 12,2008.
Ten (10) copies of the DVD film must be submitted to CTD by Friday, September 12, 2008, regardless of when contestants register and pay entry fee.
