Logline: “When a woman sees her face on the nightly news, she knows the wrong person has been murdered.”

Synopsis: Sydney Patterson and Samantha Clarke are identical twins separated at birth. One grows up with their biological parents in a stable and nurturing environment and becomes a homicide detective on the hometown police force. The other grows up with the woman who kidnapped her in an unstable, less nurturing, single parent home and becomes a prostitute. As a serial killer who targets prostitutes soliciting at truck stops closes in, one of the two is murdered. The other twin is the only person who knows what happened and why.

Casting:

Detective Samantha Clarke – early to mid-30s, Caucasian or Latina; attractive; smart; athletic; very close to parents; no nonsense homicide detective, but has a soft heart; though she never knew her, she misses her kidnapped sister – it’s a twin thing

Sydney Patterson – early to mid-30s, Caucasian or Latina; attractive; smart; athletic; loves her “mother,” but has difficult relationship with her; hard living prostitute, but has a soft heart; feels something is missing in her life – it’s a twin thing – doesn’t know she was kidnapped from another family

NOTE: Sydney and Samantha may be played by one actress unless identical twins audition.

Sleazy Man – mid-30s to mid-40s; tall; slender; any ethnicity; serves as enforcer to pimp, Damien Jones; not quite a psychopath, but has no problem beating up women; tough guy around those smaller or weaker; maintains tough guy image around those bigger and stronger, but inside, he’s shaking

Damien Jones – late 40s to mid-50s; short; medium to heavy build; any ethnicity; runs a stable of prostitutes whom he treats okay so they will continue to bring in money, however he does not respect women; has no problem having them beat up to get their attention; doesn’t do the dirty work himself, has an enforcer do it; owns a strip club

Detective Paul Butler – mid to late-30s; Caucasian; tall; attractive; athletic; happy; serious homicide detective but has a playful side to him; loves and respects women; big flirt, especially with Dr. Sharon Matthews, the M.E.

Lieutenant James Mitchell – mid to late-40s; any ethnicity; lieutenant in charge of homicide unit; serious; weight of the job on his shoulders; respects his officers, but stays out of their personal lives unless personal problems impact the job; respects and supports choices his officers make, but will not hesitate to reign them back in if things look sour

Officer Daniel Brown – mid-30s; any ethnicity; medium to just slightly soft build; steady worker; actually prefers desk duty to patrol duty

Red-Headed Hooker – mid-20s and above; any ethnicity; medium height to tall; slender to soft build; sexy

Blonde Hooker – mid-20s and above; any ethnicity; medium height to tall; slender to soft build; sexy

Dr. Sharon Matthews – mid to late-30s; medium height; soft womanly curves; county medical examiner; very good at her job; takes it seriously, but does not let it run her life; warm-hearted; flirtatious, especially with Det. Paul Butler Thug – 30s; any ethnicity; large man, noticeably large (at least 6’2” with some heft to him); gatekeeper at the door of Damien Jones’ strip club

Misty Blue – 18 and up; any ethnicity; waitress; good at her job, actually enjoys it and her customers

William Evans – mid-30s to mid-40s; any ethnicity; attractive; average height; slender; news anchor at local television station

Brian Roberts – late 20s to early 30s; any ethnicity; average height and build; field reporter for local television station

Paid - Non/Paid: Deferred payment for cast and crew (DVD and food provided); have applied for grant, so pay would change if grant is approved
