Event Details:
Three of Austin’s most accomplished shooters share clips of their work and discuss the art and practice of cinematography. From high budget and low; video and film; docs, narrative features, music videos and commercials - these shooters have done it all. Join them as they share their insights on how they tell stories through images.
Panel Members:
Lee Daniel - co-founded the Austin Film Society in 1985 with Richard Linklater and went on to shoot many of his films, including SLACKER, DAZED AND CONFUSED, BEFORE SUNRISE, SUBURBIA, BEFORE SUNSET and FAST FOOD NATION.
Deborah Eve Lewis - holds documentary feature credits such as P.O.V.’s LAST MAN STANDING (Paul Stekler) and CRITICAL CONDITION (Roger Weisberg), Independent Lens’ WRIT WRITER (Susanne Mason) and TROOP 1500 (Ellen Spiro and Karen Bernstein), as well as First Run Features’ WITH GOD ON OUR SIDE- GEORGE W. BUSH AND THE RISE OF THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT IN AMERICA (David Van Taylor & Calvin Scaggs).
PJ Raval - an award-winning cinematographer and director. PJ shot the 2008 Sundance Film Festival Documentary Grand Jury Award Winner TROUBLE THE WATER and the 2006 Independent Spirit Award nominated ROOM, and just completed shooting the Austin, Texas production, THE TWO BOBS, directed by Tim McCanlies (SECONDHAND LIONS, IRON GIANT).
