For those at AFI Dallas and all North Texas residents, a great panel, open to the public, is being held at this year’s AFI Dallas on Monday the 31st. Texas filmmakers Garry Brown and Russ Pond (Director/Producer of “Fissure”) will sit down with moderator Chris Kelly from the Star-Telegram and and third panelist Bob Hudgens, Director of the Texas Film Commission, to discuss the benefits of filming in Texas as well as the Texas filmmaking network and the impact, if any, of the recently passed Texas incentive program.

The event, The State of the State: Filmmaking in Texas, will be co-hosted by the Texas Motion Picture Alliance and will begin at 5:30 PM at the W Dallas Victory Hotel on the 16th floor Wet Deck.

The free panels run until Saturday the 5th when there is, what looks to be, a great panel on the acquisition, marketing, and distribution of independent films entitled That’s a Wrap, Now What!
